When a pet dies, such as a pet fish, and we bury it, are we supposed to say anything while burying it?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

There is nothing specifically recommended. However, if one uses it as an occasion to remember the reality of death and take admonition through the recitation of the Qur’an and turn to Allah in supplication–for our needy souls–then it would be an act of piety.

And Allah alone gives success.

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani
