What is the Islamic view on horoscopes?

It is impermissible to follow horoscopes and astrology, because the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) sternly forbade it in numerous authentic hadiths, mentioned in Bukhari, Muslim and other major hadith collections.
