Does Dissection Necessitate Ghusl?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I am a college student who has to dissect a cat in lab this week (and for approximately 4 more weeks). After participating in the dissection, do I need to make ghusl before I can pray? Or am I considered unclean after this and have to renew my wudu?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

Dissecting a cat (or washing a dead body) do not affect one’s wudu and do not require ghusl either.

Walaikum assalam,
Faraz Rabbani
