Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

In the Hanafi school, the funeral prayer can only be performed once, and a condition for its validity–as clearly established in the sunna of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)–is that it be in the presence of the deceased.

However, you should make a lot of dua for your father (Allah have mercy on him) and make a lot of worship (nafl prayers, Qur”anic recital) in the blessed places during Hajj and donate the reward to him.

[Donating reward to the deceased]

And Allah alone gives success.

wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
