Eating during Eclipses?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Ilyas Patel

Are there certain things, like eating or foods that become bad or wrong to eat during eclipses?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful, and all blessings and peace upon our master Muhammad, his Folk, Companions and those who follow their noble way,

It is stated in Aghlat al-`Awam (‘Errors of the Common’) of Shaykh Ashraf Ali al-Tahanawi:

It is well known that it is forbidden to eat during the lunar eclipse. There is no basis for this. Rather, this is a time for directing oneself towards Allah Most High. [Item #12]

And Allah knows best.
