Assalamu alaikum,

According to zakat rulings, 10 karats gold is not considered to be gold so one does not pay zakat on it right?
And wearing rings made of other than gold or silver for women is haram right?
In that case, would it be haram for a woman to wear a ring made of 10 karat gold? (10 karats gold is less than 50% gold)

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

The scholars mention that given that it is still “gold”, it would be permitted to wear.

Also, note that other madhhabs give more leeway in wearing non-precious metals.

And Allah alone gives success.
