Sunnah-Approved Perfume Application: Itr and More

Q: Is there a sunnah way to put itr on and also if I put perfume on, will the sunnah be done?

A: You may put it on your palm and thereafter apply it on the centre of the head, on the beard and around the arms. In our understanding, perfume is not equivalent to itr.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
