Working in a Shariah-Compliant Bank: What to Expect?

Q: I have been offer a job in a Bank. Kindly tell me how is it to work in a bank according to Shari’ah?

A: If you are involved in the haraam activities of the bank e.g. providing interest-bearing loans etc, then you should sincerely repent and look for a halaal source of income. If you are employed for some activity which is not against the Sharia e.g. sweeping, guarding etc. then though your income is halaal, however being part of an interest-based operation is detestable.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
