Moving to fill a gap in the saff in salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: In fard salaah, if a persons wudhu breaks infront of you, can the person behind him take his place by moving forward? What is the best option in this regard?

Bismillaah

A: If a muqtadi’s wudhu breaks while performing salaah behind the imaam and he leaves the saff to perform wudhu, then the person standing on the right or left should move to fill the gap. However, if they do not move to fill the gap, then the person behind can move forward to fill the gap in the saff in front of him.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
