Q: I want to continue my PhD studies abroad or in another city that’s away from my home. Actually I am married and have a baby girl alhumdullilah. Is it okay or a sin in Islam to move away from my husband for a specific time period? During this duration he will stay with his first wife and children.
A: It is wrong for a woman to move away for these types of reasons. Your greater concern should be your home, husband, child and your deen.
