Eating food distributed in the musjid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Muslim brothers are disturbing food in the masjid such as dates, rice, fruits, etc. Can we eat them? I am scared as I do not know their intention. What shall I do?

Bismillaah

A: When these are given then generally it is for thawaab. There is no harm in accepting it.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
