Practising on “weak” ahaadeeth

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. Can we follow weak hadiths?

2. Will I be rewarded for following weak hadiths?

Bismillaah

A:

1. There are certain conditions to accept weak ahaadeeth. We cannot give a general statement that it is right to follow or not to follow.

2. As above. When you do not know which to apply and which not to, then refer to someone knowledgeable, qualified and someone who has the understanding of hadeeth before making amal on any hadeeth.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
