Charging a commission for using one’s name

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it halal to lend someone one’s name and that person uses that name in business transactions. The other person will get a commission for certain percentage of sales. Note that the lender of the name does not have any concern with the nature of the transaction.

Bismillaah

A: It is not right.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
