Can Allah Ta`ala talk to us?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Can Allah talk to us directly?

What if someone is claiming that Allah is talking to them? They are also saying that the angels are explaining the tafseer while they are reading it. They also say that sometimes jinn talk to them and they can clearly distinguish who is talking to them.

Bismillaah

A: Allah Ta`ala talks to His servants through the Qur’aan Shareef. Can there be any speech greater than the words of the Qur’aan?

The knowledge that is reliable and authentic is the knowledge that is received through ulama, righteous learned people and authentic kitaabs. The knowledge that he is talking about is not authenticated. Hence it cannot be used unless it has been authenticated through some verse of the Qur’aan and some reliable ulama.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
