Performing salaah behind an imaam who makes masah on normal socks

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is my prayer valid behind an Imam

1. Who was wearing normal thin socks and I saw him doing masah on them during wudhu.

2. Who was wearing normal thin socks and I did not saw him doing masah on them.

Please note that majority of the people do masah on normal Socks here.

Bismillaah

A: If you are certain that he had made fardh wudhu making masah on the socks then his namaaz is not valid. When his namaaz is not valid then your namaaz is also not valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
