Is it better to conceal a person’s faults or tell the truth?

Q: My question is that telling truth is more important or hiding someones sins (faults)? 

Bismillaah

A: Hiding a person’s faults is not against being truthful. In fact, truth requires that you hide people’s faults just as you hide your faults. If you are hiding your faults it cannot be said that you are a liar.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
