Delaying marriage to serve one’s mother

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I live with my old aged mum and two brothers. Both of them are unemployed. I cannot make nikaah because if I do, there will be nobody to take care of her. In this modern world it is difficult for two queens to live under the same roof. I do not have the means to take care of two households. Please advise if i am committing a sin by not making nikaah.

Bismillaah

A: If you can manage yourself without getting involved in any type of wrong then to delay the process of nikaah until you have the means and strength is permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
