Masah with a Bandaged Hand: How to Perform Wudu with Exposed Fingertips and Thumb

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I had an op on my left hand. It is currently bandaged up until just below the elbow. Three fingertips (nails) and the entire thumb is exposed. Please explain to me how to do masah, will the thumb and fingertips have to be washed?

Bismillaah

A: Pass your wet hand over the bandage and wash the fingers that are exposed.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
