Engaging in worldly talks with friends after Esha

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: It is becoming a common phenomenon that Muslim husbands leave their wives and kids alone at home to go for “boy’s night”. This is aside from time that they spend playing sport such as soccer and exercising. Is this permissible and healthy for one’s family life? If so, how frequently should husbands be going out to spend time with their friends?

Bismillaah

A: Engaging in worldly talks etc. with friends after Esha is something that is greatly disliked in the shariah. Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) had strongly disapproved of this practice.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
