Destroying photos of oneself

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: During a period of my life, I did not wear the hijab. I have many photos of myself taken without hijab, mostly for schools, and id’s and things like that. I can’t have majority of them removed (such as those in the high school year book, or class graduation photos). Will my repentance for not wearing hijab not be accepted if these photos exist?

Bismillaah

A: Try your best to eliminate all those photos and request all that have your photos to immediately destroy them. After you have done all this and you have asked Allah Ta`ala’s forgiveness, insha-Allah Allah will forgive you.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
