Is a step father a mahram for one’s daughter?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My friend got divorced 8-9 years ago. Now she is going to marry again. She has a daughter who is now 8 years old. She wants to know what does Islam say about her daughter’s relation with her husband to be. Will he be a mahram or non mahram for her daughter once she gets married to him?

Bismillaah

A: He will be a mahram.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
