Fear of not fulfilling wife’s rights

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Someone used to commit masturbation some time ago. He then repented from the sin and doesn’t want to go back there again. Now he doesn’t want to get married and fears not to give his spouse his rights if forced to marry. As he doesn’t fear any sin now, is it permissible for him to stay unmarried?

Bismillaah

A: Precaution requires that he should get married if he is able to. He should not delay on account of the doubt that he may not be able to fulfil the rights of the wife.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
