Reading Same Surah in Both Rakats of Farz Salah: Allowed or Not?

Q: Can I read the same surah in both rakats of a farz salah? For example someone reads surah fatihah and surah ikhlaas in the first 2 rakats of zuhr farz.

Bismillaah

A: To recite the same surah in both the rakaats is makrooh, though the salaah will be valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
