Q: What type of haircut is haraam and which type of hair style is Sunnah?

Bismillaah

A: Adopting the ways of the kuffaar is impermissible. Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would generally keep long hair – zulfa, and at times it would be up to half the ear, at times to the earlobe and sometimes to the shoulder.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
