Q: Is it valid if I do nikaah on Skype in the presence of witnesses and a Maulana and at the same time I send a scanned copy of the nikaah document with my signature on it to her and she signs it too. Will it be valid? Please help me with this.
A: It is a precondition for the validity of the nikaah that the bridegroom, bride (or representative of the bride), and the witnesses be in the same gathering. Since this condition is not found, the nikaah will not be valid.
