Slaughtering an animal whose horn is broken off for Qurbaani

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Many cattle breeders remove the horns of young bulls for productio purposes. Only a stub is left and the horn never grows back. Is it permissible to slaughter such an animal for Qurbaani?

Bismillaah

A: If the horn is broken off from the root, it will not suffice for Qurbaani. However if it is not broken off from the root, it will suffice.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
