Salah on a Plane: Do I Need to Repeat and Can I Always Sit?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. Is it necessary for me to repeat my salah that I prayed on an aeroplane?

2. If yes, then can I always sit and pray my salah in an aeroplane?

Bismillaah

A:

1. If you performed the Salaah in the normal manner (i.e. while standing and performing all the postures on the ground), then you do not have to repeat the Salaah. However if you sat on your seat and performed the Salaah, then you should repeat your Salaah.

2. As above.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
