If Alcohol in drinks etc is used as a carrier, the drink is halal. is it true?

Question:

Q1-A MUFTI SAHIB SAID THAT IF ALCOHOL IN DRINKS ETC IS USED AS A CARRIER ,THE DRINK ETC IS HALAAL IS THIS TRUE? PLEASE PROVIDE REFERENCE TO ANSWER JAZAKALLAH.

Q2-IS WHITE WINE VINEGAR HALAAL WAS TOLD BY A MUFTI SAHIB THAT IT IS HALAAL COULD YOU PLEASE CONFIRM.
 


Answer:

 

1.        Alcohol prepared from grapes, raisins or dates is Haraam and impure and cannot be consumed or utilised in any way or purpose.  (Raddul Muhtaar, Vol. 5, Page 318-321)

Internal use of alcohol prepared from other than grapes, raisins or dates is permitted to the amount which is not intoxicating for reasons other than enjoyment, e.g. for medical purposes.  (Raddul Muhtaar, Vol. 5, Page 322, Imdaadul Fataawaa, Vol. 4, Page 93-94 and Page 209)

2.        It will be permissible to consume such vinegar that is made from wine.  (Fataawaa Aalamgeeriyyah, Vol. 5, Page 410, Fataawaa Mahmoodiyah, Vol. 5, Page 186)
