What do Islamic teachings say about interpreting dreams of a deceased person?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Our father passed away on the 14th of January 2018. We, brothers and sisters, have seen two types of dreams about him. (1) We all know that he has passed away but we see him lying sideways coughing and moving about. (2) He is also seen eating food in different places. Please guide us regarding this.

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

If the questioner’s father was a pious man, then his family seeing him alive and eating in different places is a sigh that he is in a good condition and their ایصال ثواب is reaching him (i.e. he is receiving the benefit of their prayers for him).
And Allah knows best.
