In our locality, there is a general notion that the animal to be slaughtered for the sake of Qurbani must not be castrated and if it is castrated its Qurbani will be invalid. If the animal is castrated then it is defective and the Qurbani of a defective animal is incorrect. Please guide us from the Quran and Sunnat, if the Qurbani if an animal whether castrated or not, is valid?
الجواب حامدا و مصلیا
The Qurbani of a castrated animal is not only permissible, but also better because its meat is tastier. There is no basis to the notion that has been circulating in the questioner’s locality.
And Allah knows best.
