Assalamu Alaikum Janab Mufthi Sahib, Permission has been granted to Muslims to perform Namaz in a Church in a city in America and there are no mosques in the close vicinity for muslims there to perform Namaz, So is it permissible for Muslims to perform Namaz in a church or no? Even though there is no harm in performing Salath in such a place due to the compelled situation of non-availability of another place due to ……”the earth as a whole is made to me as clean and place for sajda/masjid” …….., yet, without a compelled situation it is Makarooh and impermissible for Muslims to perform Salath in churches. Whereas the Muslims of the said area should make every possible effort to concentrate in building a Masjid to discharge their worships just as the other Muslims in the other areas.
