I heard in a lecture of Sheikh Makki Hijazi that circumcising girls is permissible in Islam. Nowadays people don’t circumcise girls. Is it permissible to do such?

Although the circumcision of girls is permissible, it isn’t incumbent neither is it necessary. Hence there is no problem, as per Shari’ah, if a girl has not been circumcised.
