The condition to touch the Qur’an is to remain under ablution

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaikum!
1. The condition to touch the Qur’an is to remain under ablution or to be Paak (to be in the state of purity)?
2. Aayath of Qur’an is found in various papers, literature and books. Are they too fall in the category of Qur’an?
3. What should be done with those Urdu Papers after reading, in which religious matters and Ahadees etc. are found? It is said that they should be put in rivers, lakes etc. or should be burnt.
Request you to please guide us.

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

1. It is a condition to be with ablution and remain in the state of purity to touch the Qur’an Shareef. It is Makrooh e Thahreemi to touch the Qur’an Shareef without having ablution and in a state of impurity
2,3. If an Ayath of Qur’an Shareef or a portion of Hadees is found written on a Newspaper or a literature it should be respected just as it is necessary to respect in the case of Qur’an Shareef and Books of Ahadees . All such papers where Qur’an Ayath , Ahadees or the blessed name of Allah is written should be collected and bury in such a place where there is no fear of being disrespected or people moving over it. If it is impossible then arrangements should be made to cause it to drown on a river etc.
