Traveller changes intention from four to two rakat

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by IslamicPortal.co.uk

A traveller begins ʿAṣr Ṣalāh with the intention of performing four rakʿat. During Ṣalāh, he realises he is required to perform two rakʿat. So, he only performs two rakʿat. Is his Ṣalāh valid?

Answer

His Ṣalāh is valid.
