This has been recorded as the statement of ‘Urwah ibn Zubayr (rahimahullah) in the following sources:

  1. Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 2 pg. 177
  2. Tarikh Dimashq, vol. 40 pg. 271

‘Urwah ibn Zubayr (rahimahullah) said: “On many occasions, I tolerated disgraceful remarks due to which I was bestowed with immense respect.”
