Is this narration authentic?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
‘When Allah wishes to humiliate a person in this world, he places him in debt’
Answer:
Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma). However, Hafiz Dhahabi and ‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahumallah) have pointed out a very weak narrator in this chain. The Hadith should not be quoted.
