What is the reference for this narration?
سئل ابن مسعود:كيف كنتم تستقبلون رمضان؟ قال:ما كان احدنا يجرؤ على استقبال الهلال وفي قلبه ذرة حقد على أخيه المسلم
Answer:
I have not come across this narration in any primary source nor have I come across a chain of narrators. I am therefore unable to verify the authenticity.
Translation
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) was asked: “How would you [Sahabah] anticipate/greet Ramadan? He said: None of us would dare to greet the crescent of Ramadan with an atom of malice in his heart for his Muslim brother.”
