Abu Abdir Rahman As-Sulami (rahimahullah) teaches Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) a verse from Surah Ahzab

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Question

What is the authenticity of the following narration?

Abu Abdir Rahman (rahimahullah) has narrated that he used to teach Hasan and Husayn (radiyallahu ‘anhuma). Once, Ali bin Abi Talib (radiyallahu ‘anhu) passed nearby him while he was teaching them, and he [i.e. Sayyiduna ‘Ali – radiyallahu ‘anhu] said to him: “Teach them Khataman Nabiyyin with a fatha on the ta [Surah Ahzab, Verse: 40)”

Answer

‘Allamah Ibnul Ambari (rahimahullah) has cited this narration on the authority of Abu Abdir Rahman As-Sulami (rahimahullah).

(Al-Masahif; Ad-Durrul Manthur, Surah Ahzab, Verse: 40)

As I have not come across the complete chain of narrators for this narration, I therefore cannot comment on its authenticity.
