Authenticity of a narration which states that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) had a shadow

There is a Hadith in Musnad Ahmad wherein Sayyidah Zaynab (radiyallahu ‘anha) states that she saw the shadow of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). Is this Hadith authentic?

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith with a suitable chain.

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 6 pg. 132 and pg. 338. Refer: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 4 pg. 321)

There are conflicting reports on the issue; Did Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) have a shadow or not? See here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
