An untraceable Hadith on the virtue of hunger

Is this Hadith authentic?

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Keep knocking on the door of Jannah and the door will be opened. Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) asked, ‘How do we keep knocking on the door of Jannah’? Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘By staying hungry and thirsty.’

Answer

This Hadith appears in certain non primary Hadith sources. ‘Allamah Subki and ‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahumallah) state that they have not come across any basis for this narration. This should therefore not be quoted.
