Is there any mention in the Hadith that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) himself would recite the following du’a?
ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة، وقنا عذاب النار
Answer:
Yes. This is recorded in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would say:
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Allahumma Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanah wa fil akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhaban nar
O our Rabb! grant us good in this world, good in the hereafter and save us from the punishment of the fire
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4522 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2690)
One version of this narration states that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would recite this du’a frequently.
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6389)
