Charity will serve as a shade on the day of Qiyamah

Is this Hadith reliable?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“On the Day of Qiyamah, people will be in the shade of the charity [they gave], until it is time for accountability.

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 148)

Imams Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban and Hakim (rahimahumullah) have declared the Hadith authentic. ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) has concurred with Imam Hakim.

(Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Hadith: 2431, Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 3310, Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 416)

Abul Khayr, one of the narrators of this Hadith, would ensure that he gave charity every day, even if be a small food item.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
