Every Nabi was given miracles by virtue of which people believed in him

What is the translation of the words ‘Ma mithluhu‘ in the Hadith recorded in Sahih Muslim, Kitabul Iman?

Answer

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded the Hadith you are referring to. The full Hadith is as follows:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Every Nabi was given such [a miracle] through the like of which people believed. [The miracle] I was given [among other miracles is] revelation which Allah revealed to me [the Quran]. I hope that I will be the one with the most followers on the Day of Qiyamah.”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4981, Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 152)

Explanatory translation of the part in question:

Every Nabi was given such a miracle, with which people are usually convinced. Hence, anyone who saw this was forced to believe in him. (However, due to stubbornness, some still chose not to believe)

(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 4981)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
