Is this narration authentic?
ما من صاحب كنز لا يؤدي زكاته إلا أحمي عليه في نار جهنم فيجعل صفائح فيكوى بها جنباه وجبينه حتى يحكم الله بين عباده
Answer:
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The Hadith is therefore authentic.
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 987)
Translation
The owner of [gold/silver/wealth] who does not discharge the Zakah, will witness his wealth heated and made into sheets [on the day of Qiyamah]. His sides and forehead will then be branded until Allah Ta’ala passes judgement between His bondsmen.
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
