Mursal narrations of Al-Azraq ibn Qays

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

I came across some mursal narrations by Al-Azraq ibn Qays and wanted to ask if these are considered to be acceptable according to the Muhaddithun?

Answer

Azraq ibn Qays is a reliable Tabi’i (rahimahullah).

Mursal narrations are acceptable from such Tabi’un according to the Hanafi, Maliki and Hambali Muhaddithun.

(See Al-Hadithul Mursal, by Shaykh ‘Awwamah)

However, the acceptance of these Mursal narrations are dependent on the condition of the entire chain…

I can therefore, not comment on that aspect until I see the full narrations in question.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
