The wording of a particular form of Salat ‘alan Nabi

Question

Is this durud authentic, if so what are the benefits?

Allahuma salli ‘ala sayyidina Muhammad wa Aadama wa Nuh wa Ibrahima wa Musa wa ‘Isa wa ma baynahum minan Nabiyyina wal Mursalin Salawatullahi wa salamuhu ‘Alayhim Ajma’in

Translation: O Allah! send salutations upon Muhammad -sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam-, Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim,  Musa,  ‘Isa -‘alayhimus salam-, and on those Messengers who were sent between each of them. May the blessings of Allah and His peace be on them all.

Answer

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Sulayman Al Jazuli (rahimahullah) has recorded these words in his Dalailul Khayrat.

(Dalailul Khayrat, pg. 86)

I have not come across these words in a Hadith, however a person may read any form of durud one wishes, even if it is not found in a Hadith, as long as he does not regard it to be from Hadith.

The Muhaddithun and Scholars of the past have written numerous different variations in the words of durud/ Salawat. One may recite any of these variations.

There are numerous benefits and rewards of reading durud, insha Allah one will also attain those rewards by reading the above durud.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best
