One form of interest

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have a house. I take some money from one person and I give him my house for one year agreement. After one year, I take back my house and return his money. Is this permissible?

Bismillaah

A: This is not permissible. This is in actual fact interest. The benefit he will receive through using your home is in exchange of the loan he gave you.  Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Every benefit derived through a loan is interest.”

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
