Love for your brother what you love for yourself to attain entry into Jannah

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Is the following Hadith authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked, “Do you love Jannah?” I said, ‘Yes’. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said, ‘Then love for your brother what you love for yourself.’”

This narration is recorded in Musnad Ahmad (rahimahullah). Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked this question to Sayyiduna Yazid ibn Asad (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad; Zawaid ‘Abdullah ibn Imam Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 70)

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic and ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) concurs. Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has also recorded this narration. ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable (thiqat).
