Another Hadith on the virtue of a large congregation in Janazah Salah

Is this Hadith authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“If a group of Muslims numbering one hundred, offer Janazah Salah over a dead person all of them interceding for him, their intercession for him will be accepted.”

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith in his Sahih, on the authority of Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha). The Hadith is therefore authentic.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 947)

Other narrations in Sunan Tirmidhi and Sahih Muslim suggest that if forty people or three rows perform a person’s Janazah, Allah Ta’ala will accept their intercession on his behalf.

‘Allamah Nawawi (rahimahullah) states that whichever one is found; three rows, forty people or one hundred people, [insha Allah], their intercession will be accepted on behalf of the deceased.

(Sahih Muslim with Al Minhaj, Hadith: 2195)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
