Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) going between Safa and Marwah in Hajj

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

In the following narration:

Lam yatufin Nabiyyu sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam wa ashabuhu baynas safa wal marwati illa tawafan wahidan.

Does this sa’i refer to the sa’i of ‘Umrah or Hajj ?

Answer

When reviewing other Hadiths that report the Hajj of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam), one understands that this particular narration is actually only referring to the sa’i of Hajj (since the sa’i of ‘Umrah was done before this).
